I am currently working on a new panel for this years shows. This ties in with entering two shows down South for the first time. These are at RHS Wisley in early May and at Crowthorne in August. For more details please see the Shows page
La Sagrada Familia!!
Have just returned from a 5-day visit to Barcelona and fulfilled one of my dreams: to see Gaudi’s masterpiece and feast upon the stained glass windows by Joan Vila-Grau. These superb abstract windows have been an ongoing project since 1999 and bring to life Gaudi’s desire for the Church to be the “temple of harmonious light”. Quite simply the most stunning building I have ever had the privilege to enter.
Clematis picture window finally installed.
The brief for this private commission was to create a picture window which was to serve both as an artwork and as a way to obscure the view of a garage wall outside. The client wanted a floral design mainly in muted colours but with striking red flower heads. It also needed to tie in with other artworks in other media elsewhere in the house. The panel took some time to make as it is over 1.4 m tall and 0.7m wide and contains some very small pieces of glass.
The image shows a new window recently installed in the new Prayer Room at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.
All these windows were made entirely with mouthblown glass and were designed to appear as a set as they are all exactly the same size, two in each of two rooms in the house.
